Sugar Low

In celebration of Valentine's weekend, my roommate and I hosted a girly slumber party. This is the sort of thing that I haven't participated in since I was maybe 14, but deep down we all know that even 25 year old semi-adult women still want to just spend a night eating junk food, painting our nails, gossiping and watching Sex and the City: Season Six.

Trouble is, the 14 year old party kicked my 25 five year old ass. It is a special sort of transition when you wake up the next day ill from not the alcohol, but the vast amount of sugar and other crap consumed until 4 am. Top that off with a sinus headache, and you have me...high on pepto bismal and allergy medicine, feeling more than a little loopy and still not quite so right in the tummy. But it was still worth it!
A little hint of last night's sugar high that led to today's low: heart-shaped chocolate cake with appropriate Valentine's sprinkles; rice krispy treats; and an ice cream bar that included chocolate syrup, caramel sauce, whipped cream, raspberries, and nuts. And the pièce de résistance: the roommate's drink recipe for a Wonder Woman (1 part Bailey's + 1 part Grand Marnier + 1 part Tia Maria = one messed up sugary night).

It sounds too good to be true, Like your own WIlly Wonkaville! So sad I missed it!
